if life is mostly play and little work

we had a horrible day today. slept at 2+am and have to wake up by 6.30am for 02206 lab. and the lab itself was a disaster. not that much of how difficult the drawing of graphs, euler diagrams and what have you are, but operating in the linux system is simply mind-boggling. in two hours we figured out how to print, and we did it the cheapskate method by using the 'print screen' fcn. all of us skipped the lecture after it to catch some sleep.
the day went through with intermittent sleep and study. and when i finally regained enough energy we went to bldg 308 to play chatek and pool. those few hours were good. it helped me forget the stress from the morning's lab. we played hard, laughed and choked, and enjoyed well.
how i wish life is always like that. with a larger dimension towards living than surviving. when play means play and work means work, it seemed to me that even as the hours spent on work is long, the time at play has sufficiently eased my tensed brain. i've never felt so good, coz usually through the semester in nus i've never given mr 4ghz a break. and after exams i neglected him and let him rot away. right... so now i'm gonna give mr 4ghz some brain food (sudoku!) before i let him rest. :p

christiania

'i really never buy cocaine!'
hahaha. we went to christiania today. it's a 'settlement' in christianhavn. it's basically a place with almost no law or order. people are free to do whatever they want. the place is quite creepy and depressing. the shops and houses are covered with grafitti and masked in a smoky atmosphere. suspicious looking people lurk around. then from the bars can smell some... drugs.
ironically, the 'tagline' associated with christiania is 'say no to hard drugs'. but why the distinction between hard and soft drugs when both create potential problems to society? moreover, banning hard drugs but condoning soft drugs can be simply viewed as a slippery slope situation. the governance of christiania is really pretty weird. it was really an eye opener for me since after being well protected all my life.
'and i also really never buy marijuana!'

v day

so sad. i got a full day of sch on v day... but not that it makes much diff actually. been seeing roses and tulips sold in shops yesterday, so pretty, but there're none at my door step this morning. sighhh. haha.
well at least i have my friends here to accompany me. almost all of the singaporeans went to the celler bar at night. i had a small chat with sarune and janni, but most of my time was spent with the singaporean gang. the guys were learning how to make the paper flowers, those to bluff little girls. tsk tsk.
nothing very much interesting happened, only been asked to take a photo with a korean guy. no cute italians. haha. so when no one was paying attention me and ys sneaked away to 303 to print notes.
we went back to campus village at abt 2am and heard sy singing. apparently they were partying with the koreans in container g and we literally had to run for our lives back to our own rooms. imagine what'll happen if they discover we went to print notes. hahaha.
well the depressing v day is finally over.

carlsberg brewery

we went to carlsberg brewery today.
took lotsa pictures of beer and the machinery they use to make beer. and while watching the video clip for making beer, we have a drunk music conductor trying to show off his musical skills (or the lack of thereof).
then we have some 'cock' taking a photo of his beer... (sing: abel is a cock, abel is a cock...)

basically most of us were either high or drunk (only one person is drunk. guess who?) today. but the experience was fun and enjoyable. and now presenting the carlsberg crew:
and in the evening i met up with vince! he came over to copenhagen to tour and took some time off to meet me. had a nice catch up with him. maybe i'll go to london to meet vince and ss too. heh.
our long day ended with all of us being 'gracified'... zzzzz...

skiing!

woke up at 5am. *yawn* coz today we're going to isaberg, sweden to ski. we took a coach from lyngby and the coach went into a ferry and the ferry went out to the sea and the ferry reached sweden and the coach got out of the ferry and the coach finally reached the ski resort. so there's where all the fun began...
must act pro... but no comments abt the numerous slips and falls.

and we had HOT chocolate in -9degC!
